One Piece Film: Z (Japanese: ワンピースフィルム ゼット Hepburn: Wan Pīsu Firumu: Zetto ?) is a 2012 Japanese anime film directed by Tatsuya Nagamine. It is the twelfth feature film based on the shōnen manga series One Piece by Eiichiro Oda. The film stars the regular television cast of Mayumi Tanaka, Kazuya Nakai, Akemi Okamura, Kappei Yamaguchi, Hiroaki Hirata, Ikue Otani, Yuriko Yamaguchi, Kazuki Yao and Chō. The film revolves around the Straw Hat Pirates battling against a man named Zephyr, an ex-Admiral of the Marines who will be the most powerful enemy they've ever faced yet.
Plot
Zephyr, an ex-Admiral of the Marines, is the leader of a group known as the Neo Marines. The Neo Marines battle the Marines on a volcanic island where Zephyr uses bombs to start an eruption. He is washed to sea and picked up by the Straw Hat Pirates and attacks them when he learns their identities. During the attack, Nami, Tony Tony Chopper, Brook and Nico Robin are de-aged by one of the Neo Marines. Overpowered, the Straw Hats flee to a nearby island. There, they gather information on Zephyr's location from the Marines. A second counter ensues and Monkey D. Luffy is defeated by Zephyr once again.
Aokiji reveals that Zephyr is targeting the three volcanic islands known as End Points. If all three islands had eruptions in a short period of time of each other, it will result in a giant eruption covering and killing those on the world's oceans. The Straw Hats confront the Neo Marines on the third End Point and are victorious. Zephyr, moved by Luffy's conviction, fights to the death and buys time for the Straw Hats to escape from the Marines.
